Both general purpose and high impact polystyrene grades faced downward pressure in Asia and Europe as styrene monomer prices continued their descent, while this backdrop fueled bearish pressure from buyers toward the tail end of October, market sources said. One trader said the total fall in north Africa markets between September and October amounted to Eur80/mt, similar to the fall in European contract levels.
