US spot refinery-grade propylene kept losing ground throughout the week, assessed Friday at 62-62.50 cents/ lb delivered, down 3.75 cents/lb since March 1. Market sources attributed the drop on the polymer-grade propylene spot deals that were consistently heard declining in price, pushing RGP lower. Additionally, US polymer-grade propylene contracts for March were heard beginning to settle down 6 cents/lb at 73 cents/lb delivered, market sources said Thursday. The price decrease was reported by one major producer and three major buyers, thereby putting a stop to six consecutive months of contract increases.
