Bearish sentiment weighed down spot prices in the NWE LDPE market this week while sources expected the market to reverse gains earlier in the year as high prices choked off some end-user demand. In the spot market, sources reported that competitive offers from Turkey were heard at Eur1,350-1,370/mt FD NWE while offers also continued to trickle in from Asia and Middle East. Offers were heard at Eur1,370-1,400/mt FD NWE as European product was heard at Eur1,400/mt FD NWE. "A lot of traders are liquidating their positions," one trader claimed. In the UK, spot prices were heard at GBP1,180/mt FD.
