The CFR Peru low density polyethylene (LDPE) price was assessed Wednesday at $1,570-1,580/mt, $30 higher from the previous week on the back of supply tightness and higher offer prices. A South Korean trader was heard offering LDPE from Qatar at $1,585/mt CFR, while Middle East producer SABIC was heard offering October shipments of LDPE film at $1,600/mt CFR. Buying interest was at the $1,550/mt CFR level, although no deals were reported by time of publication. Sources said demand was healthy, but with low volumes as consumers were buying only what was necessary.
