North African polystyrene prices clocked further increases into the second week of September, rising $70-75/mt to $1,780/mt CFR for GPPS and $1,960/mt for HIPS. Offers by European suppliers were placed at Eur1,450-1,500/mt for GPPS and Eur1,600/mt for HIPS, but few spot transactions were concluded as Asian suppliers were more competitive. Taiwanese product was offered at Eur1,380-1,400/mt for GPPS and Eur1,520-1,550/mt for HIPS where trades were concluded, distributors reported.
