In the Brazilian market, LDPE Korean offers were heard this week at $1,580/mt CFR, moving Platts price assessments slightly down this week. Bids for resin in Brazil were heard around $1,550/mt CFR. The resin import market in Brazil was still slow this week, mainly because of the strength of the dollar against the Real. "At the end of February, the dollar value was $1.70, and it was a good moment for imports. Now the dollar value is $1.80 which forces buyers in some cases to opt for buying from the local producer," a Brazilian trader said.
