The CFR China purified terephthalic acid marker rose $62/mt week on week to be assessed at $1,123/mt Friday, driven by strong buying appetite to build inventories before an early October holiday in China. Buying accelerated further Friday after the US Federal Reserve's stimulus announcement. The CFR China PTA price started rising from Wednesday, lifted by active buying to build inventories. The Asian PTA market was also driven by rising feedstock prices. The CFR Taiwan/China paraxylene price jumped $88/mt week on week to be assessed at $1,600.50/mt Friday.
