Shell’s GTL output falls on Pearl unplanned maintenance

London-Anglo-Dutch major Shell said Friday its gas-to-liquids plant in Qatar is operating at about 50% due to “unforeseen maintenance” required on its gasifier units and production is unlikely to fully recover until the end of the second quarter. The fully-integrated Pearl facility has capacity for production, processing and transportation of 1.6 Bcf/day of gas from Qatar’s North Field.
