Norway averts latest strike threat to oil, gas output

Copenhagen-Norway averted a strike which threatened to hinder oil and gas production, as the organization representing the companies and the union announced in the early hours of Thursday they had hammered out a compromise wage and conditions agreement. Norwegian oil well service sector workers represented by their union Safe had threatened to call a strike if an agreement wasn't reached by a midnight (2200 GMT) Wednesday deadline.
