Dhaka—Oil product consumption in Bangladesh, particularly 0.25% gasoil, has fallen by about 70% since opposition parties imposed blockades across the country on January 5, according to industry sources. Gasoil consumption across the country has slumped to around 3,600 mt/day in recent days from around 12,000 mt/day as per normal due to the blockades, which began January 5, M Nazmul Huq, president of the Bangladesh Petrol Pump and Tank Lorry Owners Association, told Platts Monday.
