Iraq’s July oil output rises to a record high

Amman—Iraq set a new record in monthly oil production in July with output averaging 3.718 million b/d, the highest since 1979, data released by the oil ministry late Tuesday showed. It also set a new record for burning crude at its power plants, the data showed. The sharp rise in production was mainly due to record output in the south of the country at 3.362 million b/d. This includes fields under the South Oil Company as well as the Missan province oil fields.
