Singapore-China’s independent teapot refiners are eagerly waiting for crude import quotas from the government as it will offer them a chance to diversify their feedstock, which is currently of a mix of imported fuel oil and domestic crudes. All of the 10 teapot refineries Platts spoke to recently said they plan to apply for the quotas, and sources said refineries that win quotas will likely prioritize consumption of imported crude.
