Magellan keeps focus on Permian crude pipelines

New York—Magellan Midstream Partners expects throughput on its Longhorn crude pipeline will average 260,000 b/d this year, up from the 235,000 b/d in 2014, its CEO said Thursday. The projected boost comes as demand for pipeline capacity to carry Permian Basin crude to Houston-area refineries remain strong. CEO Michael Mears, speaking on the company’s quarterly conference call, said space on Longhorn was fully committed, except for 10% set aside for spot shippers.
