Colombia output in July down 2.4% year on year

Bogota—Colombia’s crude oil production during July averaged 945,000 b/d, down 2.4% from the 968,000 b/d pumped over the same month a year ago, the most recent government data showed. This was down 6.2% from 1.007 million b/d in June. The Mining and Energy Ministry, in a statement Sunday, blamed the decline on attacks earlier this year by suspected rebels on critical oil transport infrastructure. All told, the attacks cost producers 2.17 million barrels of sales, the ministry said.
