Russian exports to gain from refining work

Moscow—Russia expects to reduce crude runs at its refineries by almost 1 million b/d over the next two decades freeing up more crude for exports to international markets, according to the basic scenario of a draft long-term strategy for the country’s oil sector. Under the strategy, crude runs would fall by some 960,000 b/d from 2014 levels to around 240 million mt, or 4.8 million b/d on average by 2035, equivalent to a 17% reduction over the period.
