Russia, Iran move closer to oil deals at Tehran talks

Moscow—Moscow and Tehran are nearing deals for joint development of Iran’s oil and gas fields and crude and gas swaps as Iran prepares to reenter the global crude export market at scale following the agreed lifting of international sanctions. Russia also is ready to compete for global energy market share with Iran when the OPEC producer begins ramping up production as expected from next year, Russia’s energy minister Alexander Novak said in an interview broadcast Friday by Russia 24 state television.
