Pace of US gas storage still worrisome

Knoxville—Despite the report of another tripledigit storage injection Thursday, leaving stocks just below the 1.5 Tcf level, many analysts continue to express doubt that the industry will reach a comfortable inventory by the fall as summer heat moves in. The Energy Information Administration on Thursday reported a 119-Bcf injection, pushing inventories to 1.499 Tcf for the week ending May 30. Most analysts had expected a build between 114 Bcf and 118 Bcf. EIA reported a 108 Bcf injection a year earlier; the five-year average is a 93 Bcf build.
