摘要

Lagos—Nigerian oil workers’ unions Pengassan and Nupeng on Thursday denied a local media report they had shelved plans for a strike some time in the first week of January over government plans to sell off state-owned refineries. Igwe Achese, president of the blue-collar oil workers’ union Nupeng, said in a statement that the position of both unions was unchanged, namely that the government was acting in haste in privatizing the four state-owned refineries and should first engage in dialog with the unions.
