Charges dropped against former Bashneft owner

Moscow-Money laundering charges against the former owner of Russian oil producer Bashneft, Vladimir Yevtushenkov, have been dropped after investigators failed to prove his guilt, Russia’s President Vladimir Putin said Thursday. The accusations against Yevtushenkov dated from the time he bought Bashneft assets in the 2000s from companies that, according to the authorities, may have illegally privatized them.
