Ineos to shut Scottish petrochemical site

London—Switzerland-based Ineos is to close its loss-making petrochemical plant at the Grangemouth complex in Scotland but the refinery at the site will likely reopen, the company said Wednesday. Ineos said it would place the petrochemical business into administration within a week after half of the Grangemouth site’s 1,370 workers turned down pay and pension cut proposals.
