New York—US refiner Phillips 66 gave credit to “advantaged” North American crude, as well as increased refinery throughput and exports, for its stellar first quarter results— joining the ranks of domestic refiners benefiting from price advantages of light sweet oil in the tight oil shale plays like Bakken and Eagle Ford, as well as heavy crude from Western Canada tar sands.
