Bangladesh’s recoverable gas reserves fall 1.4%

Dhaka, Bangladesh—Bangladesh’s recoverable gas reserves across 25 gas fields fell slightly by 1.4% to 16.36 Tcf as of January 2013. The total volume of recoverable gas reserves has dropped despite two new gas fields being discovered this year, as country’s gas consumption has gone up by 19.84% from last year, according to data from the energy ministry presented in Parliament on Thursday.
