Houston—Global energy merger and acquisitions volume fell sharply in the first half of 2013 compared to the same period last year, with total value of transactions down 29% to $79.9 billion, a report by industry management consultants Deloitte said Monday. Moreover, the 240 deals in the six months of 2013 represents a marked drop from 338 in the same period last year, also down 29%, the company said in its “Oil & Gas Mergers and Acquisitions Midyear 2013 Report.”
