Kuwait sets June deadline for Balongan refinery project

Jakarta—Kuwait Petroleum International, a sub-sidiary of Kuwait Petroleum Company, has seta deadline of June for the Indonesian govern-ment to agree to incentives the company hasasked for on the proposed 200,000-300,000b/d Balongan refinery expansion project, anofficial with state-run Pertamina said April 19.KPI is partnering Pertamina in the expan-sion project.The company is reported to have askedfor many incentives including zero income taxduring the investment period and for a furtherfive years, and for a 5% income tax when therefinery begins operations.
