Gazprom, METI to jointly fund, sell Vladivostok LNG

Vladivostok, Russia—Russia’s Gazprom and Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry signed an agreement September 8 to work together on financing and gas marketing of the proposed Vladivostok LNG project in the Russian Far East. Gazprom said in a statement that Alexey Miller, chairman of Gazprom’s management committee, and Ichiro Takahara, director general of METI’s Agency for Natural Resources and Energy, discussed the project and in the presence of President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda signed a memorandum outlining their “comprehensive cooperation” on moving it forward.
