Encana seeks JVs to increase uS asset sales

Vancouver—Canadian-based Encana will allow prospective joint-venture partners to bid individually on some of its US assets, as it looks to get back on track with partnerships after the mid-2011 collapse of a $5.4 billion JV with PetroChina—and to obtain cash to support its 2013 capital program. CEO Randy Eresman said that Encana has been advised that the company’s marketed assets in the Eaglebine, where early results are exceeding expectations, Mississippian Lime and Tuscaloosa plays in the US “may be too large for most interested parties.”
