Sinopec makes further progress on Yuanba gas block

Singapore—Chinese state company Sinopec said August 28 it has achieved a new breakthrough at the onshore Yuanba gas block in China’s central Sichuan province. The company said on its website that the Yuanba 273 well in the Changxing formation achieved 1.03 million cubic meters/ day (36,221 Mcf/day) of industrial gas flows during a fracturing test. This is the 10th well at the block that has flowed over 1 million cu m/day of gas and augurs well for overall exploration, Sinopec said.
