CNOOC to nearly double LNG imports on BG deal

Singapore—China National Offshore Oil Corp. has secured over 21 million mt/year of long term LNG supplies following its latest deal to invest significantly more in UK-based BG Group’s Queensland Curtis LNG project in the Australian port of Gladstone. CNOOC said November 1 that following the latest deal, it has now secured medium to long term LNG volumes totaling 21.6 million mt/year or roughly 2.9 Bcf/day. This is nearly double the 11 million mt/year of LNG it imported in 2011.
