Japan’s Kansai Electric to buy more Qatargas LNG

Doha—Japan’s Kansai Electric signed a long-term agreement with Qatargas to secure 500,000 mt/year of LNG supply for 15 years starting in 2013. Volumes will be lifted from the 7.8 million mt/year Train 6, part of the Qatargas 3 project, according to a statement released by Kansai Electric on September 26. This is on top of the existing 290,000 mt/year supply deal between the two companies.
