Polish PM hopes for initial shale gas in 2014

Warsaw-Poland hopes to begin commercial production of shale gas as soon as 2014, Prime Minister Donald Tusk said September 18, as the country's main gas producer PGNiG said it had completed its first hydraulic fracturing and was flare testing its Lubocino-1 well in northern Poland. Speaking at the well, Tusk also said Poland could be self-sufficient in gas by 2035 because of its vast quantities of shale gas.
