NYMEX crude down $2 on equities, dollar, stock build

New York-The New York Mercantile Exchange February crude oil futures contract settled $2 lower at $88.86/b January 20, driven down by a firm US dollar, sliding equities and increases to weekly US inventory levels. On its day of expiration, February crude traded as low as $88/b, its weakest level in nearly two weeks. But a late-day turnaround in the Dow Jones Industrial Average off its session low of 11,744.8 gave crude futures upside momentum before the settlement.
