Jakarta-Indonesia's new cabotage shipping law, which took effect last week after being signed by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, will not have any impact on oil and gas imports or exports, government officials said April 11. Last week, Yudhoyono signed a government decree that implemented the cabotage shipping law, which has been long awaited and much watched, not least because of constraints the law was said to hold for the development of the country's offshore oil and gas production.
