Horn river Basin shale gas reserves estimated at 78 Tcf

Vancouver-The first formal attempt to estimate Canada's shale gas potential has assigned 78 Tcf of potential marketable gas to British Columbia's Horn River Basin, strengthening the case for LNG exports to Asia and alternatives such as gas-to-liquids. A joint report by the National Energy Board and British Columbia Ministry of Energy and Mines said the estimate for the Horn River includes 3 Tcf of discovered and 75 Tcf of undiscovered gas.
