East Africa set to be continent's new hotspot

Kampala-Once viewed as a frontier region, East Africa's exploration has attracted an increasing interest from both majors and independent oil and gas companies searching for sizable reserves in previously difficult locations. "East Africa is very much on investors' minds right now. It will be the hotspot in 2011," Rob Shepherd, finance director of UK's Dominion Petroleum, said on the sidelines of the 5th East Africa Petroleum Conference in Kampala February 3.
