Shell may sue BP, Macondo players for lost earnings

London-Shell is considering suing BP and its partners in the ill-fated Macondo well in the US Gulf of Mexico for compensation for lost earnings following the drilling ban imposed after the blowout and oil spill in April 2010, Shell's legal chief said May 24. "That is something that I am considering," Shell's legal director, Peter Rees, told the UK's International Bar Association in a webcast interview. "There is no rush to do that and there are, at the moment, some significant legal issues that need to be taken into account."
