US retail gasoline sales down 3% from prior week

Houston-US retail stations sold 63.128 mil- lion barrels of gasoline in the week ended April 8, 3% less than the corresponding week of 2010, according to survey data released April 12 by MasterCard Advisors. The 9.018 million b/d average of gasoline pumped also marked a 1.8% decrease from the prior week, which was the third straight weekly decline. The year-on-year comparison was the sixth straight such drop. Also, the four-week average of 64.412 million barrels represented a 1.9% year-on-year decline.
