Hungary's MOL pegs spending at $5.5 billion to 2013

Budapest-Hungary's MOL plans to spend a total of $5.5 billion in 2011-2013, including $1.7 billion in 2011, with increasing amounts spent on oil and gas exploration, MOL said March 1 in a strategy update. In upstream, the focus of investments will be field development in central and east- ern Europe, Syria and Russia, and growing exploration activities in Pakistan, Kurdistan and Kazakhstan, MOL said. Downstream, the biggest project will be the second phase of the upgrade of the Rijeka refinery in Croatia, while steps will also be taken to increase MOL's fuel market share in the region.
