Alberta launches oil sands support effort

Anchorage-Alberta launched an effort this week to burnish its green image with statelevel US policymakers and opinion leaders starting with Alaska. The goal is to counteract criticism from mostly-US environmental groups over expansion of Alberta's oil sands production and new pipelines planned to carry more Alberta crude oil to the US, Ron Liepert, Alberta's energy minister, said in an interview September 28.
