Smith hits Q4 EPS; oilfield services in slow recovery

Houston-Oil services provider Smith International said that although the industry recession has hit bottom and the cycle is now headed back up, the company has not yet seen pricing pick up for its equipment and services. "Even though we are tendering everything that comes in and sending in [bids] with some price increases, not everything is sticking," Smith CEO John Yearwood said during a quarterly conference call. "I don't think we'll get much incremental pricing in the first quarter."
