Lawmakers renew effort on ethanol pipeline

Washington-Midwestern lawmakers are taking a second crack at introducing legislation to allow the US Department of Energy to issue loan guarantees for a planned 1,800 mile ethanol pipeline.The "Renewable Fuel Pipeline Act of 2010" was introduced in the House February 24 by Leonard Boswell, Democrat-Iowa, and Lee Terry, Republican-Nebraska. The bill would amend existing legislation to make ethanol and biodiesel pipelines eligible for the same loan guarantees currently available for other petroleum pipelines.
