Russia retains zero oil export duty for East Siberia

Moscow-Russia's government has approved the new monthly crude export duty of $270.70/mt ($37.08/barrel) from February 1, a slight increase on January's level of $267/mt, and at the same time kept the export duty rate for East Siberian crude at zero for February. The status quo for East Siberian oil follows considerable speculation about the future of the tax exemption, deemed by some to now be unnecessary.
