Open interest for total ICE Europe crude futures tops CME/NYMEX

New York—For at least one day last week, open interest for total crude oil futures traded on ICE Europe surpassed the open interest for CME/NYMEX crude futures, but whether it is a harbinger remains to be seen. On March 29, open interest for ICE Europe’s Brent and WTI futures contracts combined reached 1,437,854 contracts and the CME/NYMEX light sweet/WTI futures contracts (physical and financial combined) was 1,424,473.
