Gulfsands eyes commercial development of Syria project

Dubai-The UK's Gulfsands Petroleum plans to proceed to commercial development of the Yousefieh field in Syria's block 26 following the successful testing of the Yousefieh-3 well, the company said October 22. The well flowed at an average rate of 226 b/d of 24-25 degree API oil and will be completed as a potential future producer, the company said. "The successful outcome of the Youse-fieh-3 appraisal well will now enable the company to proceed shortly with an application for commercial development of the Yousefieh field," Gulfsands CEO Richard Malcolm said in a statement.
