摘要

In our previous study,2 we evaluated goblet cell density on bulbar conjunctiva and cornea in patients with ocular chemical burns by in vivo LSCM and impression cytology. A significant positive correlation was found between the goblet cell densities using these 2 methods. However, the confocal study of goblet cells (GCs) by Villani et al3 found that it was difficult to differentiate, quantify, and interpret the GCs. It seems that the 2 studies were not consistent. Villani et al3 examined the lower tarsal conjunctiva in their study, whereas we checked the bulbar conjunctiva in our study.
