Price falls reduce India's expected fuel subsidy bill

Singapore-The Indian government now expects the country's three state-owned refiner/marketers to suffer Rupees 1.05 trillion ($21.55 billion) in under-recoveries from the sale of subsidized fuels in the fiscal year ending March 2009, down from an earlier estimate of Rupees 2.45 trillion, because of the slump in global oil prices.
