Moscow-Russian crude production hit a new record in September with an average 9.97 million b/d, consolidating Moscow's lead over OPEC kingpin Saudi Arabia as the world's biggest oil producer, official data showed October 2. Preliminary data from Russia's central dispatching unit-part of the country's energy ministry-show total crude production last month at 40.951 million mt or an average 9.965 million b/d, 1.7% above the September 2008 level.
