KazMunaiGaz to expand Pavlodar refinery

Almaty, Kazakhstan-Kazakhstan's national oil and gas company, KazMunaiGaz, intends to spend at least $600 million on its newly acquired 120,000 b/d Pavlodar oil refinery to raise its capacity by 2013, the company said August 7. A company spokeswoman told Platts the reconstruction and modernization of the Pavlo-dar refinery aimed also to increase utilization rates to 85%, increase the quality of petroleum products to Euro 3 and Euro 4 standards and reduce emissions.
