New York-The head of the US Department of Energy's multi-billion dollar loan guarantee program said June 23 that his office is currently considering 47 renewable energy project applications, and will make decisions on a "prioritized basis," leaving uncertain actual timing of any approval of what investors say is a crucial part of moving the industry forward. Although Loan Guarantee Program Director David Frantz would not say what specific projects the loans would support, or when decisions would be made, he did say they were largely for biomass and solar projects.
