Sinopec lowers October refinery run rates

Singapore-Chinese oil giant Sinopec has lowered run rates at most of its affiliated refineries by an average of 3 percentage points compared with September to 87% in October as a result of narrower refining margins, a Platts monthly survey showed October 16. The 17 Sinopec refineries surveyed were processing an average of 3.13 million b/d of crude in October, down 3.39% from 3.24 million b/d in September. The refineries have a total designed capacity of 3.59 million b/d, representing around 81% of Sinopec's total.
