Producers press for SemGroup payments

New York-Small- and medium-sized oil and natural gas producers who made deliveries to SemGroup before it filed for bankruptcy in July 2008 will continue to press for payment, a lawyer representing them said on October 27. The producers are still asserting claims against BP, ConocoPhillips and Goldman Sachs' J Aron commodities unit that may enable them to further recover payment for oil and gas initially sold to SemGroup and later obtained by the three companies, said attorney Judy Hamilton Morse of Crowe & Dunlevy, an Oklahoma City-based law firm representing 35 producers in Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas that made deliveries to SemGroup before it filed for bankruptcy.
